Gouverneur
Am 7. August 2003 gab Arnold Schwarzenegger erstmals öffentlich seine Kandidatur für das Amt des Gouverneurs von Kalifornien bekannt. Am 7. Oktober 2003 gewann er die Gouverneurswahl mit mehr als 48% der abgegebenen Stimmen. Er wurde am 17. November 2003 als 38. Gouverneur des US-Bundesstaates Kalifornien vereidigt. Schwarzenegger verstand es geschickt, sich in der Öffentlichkeit sympathisch und kompetent zu präsentieren. Sein Humor und vor allem sein Engagement für Umweltprobleme machten ihn nicht nur zum internationalen Medien-Liebling, sondern auch zum Kämpfer für eine bessere, gesunde Welt. Dies führte unter anderem zu seiner Wiederwahl am 5. Januar 2007.
Governor
On August 7th, 2003, Arnold Schwarzenegger first announced that he would be running for the office of the governor of California. On October 7th, 2003, he won the elections with more than 48% of the given votes and was sworn in on November 17th, 2003, as the 38th Governor of the US federal state of California. His experience as an actor, his humour and his engagement for the solution of environmental problems soon caused a boost in his popularity rankings. This, amongst other things, led to his re-election on the 5th of January, 2007. At the beginning of his second term he said: „I love to make series. But this is, without doubt, my very favourite re-run.”
